Camping gear list - check list for camping trip   by Maria

Camping gear list - check list for camping trip

If you are planning to go on a camping trip, it is advisable to make your list of camping gear well in advance. If you keep in mind some basic items, you will avoid trouble that may request to add more items to the list on the spur of the moment.

The basic idea of a good camping list is to make a full inventory including all the necessary staff, but without any extras. You should find the balance between not overcharging your luggage and making sure nothing will be missing. Apart from what you know as indispensable, make the list taking into account your specific destination needs, both indoors and outdoors.

Apart from the basic items, a good camping gear list should count on:

  • A good sleeping bag, soft and washable.
  • Impermeable tent.
  • A special mattress –more comfortable than mats.
  • Pile up shelves for utensils. - Flashlight with several batteries.
  • Gas lamp.

Other indispensable camping gear items are the following, simple elements that many newly campers wouldn’t think of:

  • Several meters of a plastic layer –to improvise a shelter in case of rain.
  • Plastic pieces to be laid under the floor of the tent.
  • A plastic bucket or fountain for doing the washing up.
  • Hermetic flasks for sugar, coffee, matches, etc.
  • Biodegradable rubbish bags.
  • Several meters of rope to hang wet clothes.
  • Cardboard boxes to improvise your pantry.

Remember you should add a roof rack to your car, so that you don’t have to carry those items in the passengers’ cabin. That way you will avoid an uncomfortable camping trip, and there will be enough room for you and the other travellers. So keep these pieces of advice in mind and enjoy your camping trip!
